September 14, 2007The Kanye/50 BattleI'm not the biggest fan of rap music but I'll admit to liking some of it and I do own all of Eminem's and 50 Cent's cds so I feel the need to write about the 50 Cent and Kanye West battle that they have going on. Apparently if Kanye's cd sells more than 50 Cent's, 50 said he'll retire (yeah right) lol. Didn't Jay-Z say that like 7 times already yet he's still making music? Anywho. I think Kanye West is one of the most arrogant people ever. You don't have to know someone personally to know that, believe me. Just the way he carries himself and the things he says in interviews, you can tell. He can't even be a good sport about losing at awards shows, he has to bitch and moan when he doesn't win instead of congratulating the person that does win! He should be lucky he even gets nominated for anything, because his music sucks anyway. So everyone should go buy 50 Cent's new cd, simply because Kanye sucks. There ya go, I said it, I do not like him! Hopefully someone agrees, otherwise I'll get a bunch of hateful comments lol. Who cares, everyone else bashes celebs that they don't like. Well there's not too many that I can't stand other than him and maybe a handful of others that I won't mention at this moment because it has nothing to do with the topic of this post.

September 13, 2007My Undying Love for Good CharlotteI have been a Good Charlotte fan for years. Since before they had their huge breakout success with "Lifestyles" and before people were like "omgz it's GC!!!" After seeing them live 5 times, I finally got to meet them last year the 6th time I saw them and they were all such sweethearts, it made me so happy knowing that the band I've stuck behind for so long no matter what were actually really nice guys and worth every minute I spend working on my fansite for them (getdownwithgc.com). Paul even wrote to me to let me know he thought the site was kickass (yay!) So why am I babbling on about this? Because I was upset with them over the fact that they toured with Justin Timberlake and the tickets were $150 and they were only getting to play for 20 minutes to open for him. Plus the fact that I couldn't go anyway, since the tickets were already almost sold out when they found out that GC were added to the tour and I refused to see them from nosebleed seats when I always see them front row for $20-$35. No way. And it upset me that I was upset with them. It made me angry, sure. Most fans were upset over it. But I got over it, knowing that they did what they had to do. Record sales for GMR weren't as good as with their previous albums, and they needed the support so that they can do a headlining tour again. I get it guys, I understand, just never worry me like that again! lol Over the past few weeks I've been putting together some dvds of all their tv appearances and stuff for a friend that lost all her GC stuff. And it made me realize that sure they've changed, but it doesn't affect their music and why I started loving them in the first place. After how far they came from being nobodies to blowing up the radio stations, I remember being so happy for them the night they won the Viewer's Choice Award on the VMAs in 2003, I almost cried. Especially when they made it a point to thank their fans and recognize the fact that without us, they wouldn't be who they are. I was so proud of them that night. And that's one thing that's never changed - they are still completely loyal to their fans and make it a point to show their love for us as much as we show our love for them. The fact that Joel dated Hilary Duff and then got Nicole Ritchie pregnant, or the fact that Benji is engaged to the "Barbie Doll" type of chick that he always used to make fun of - none of that should matter to a true GC fan. It's about the music and that shouldn't interfere with your love for the band. It's their personal lives, it shouldn't concern anyone but them! They were on the Tyra Banks Show today talking about babies and marriage and all that - and even though they've grown up and things have changed, they're still one of my favorite bands. And they still make me laugh. (Example: they were washing a fan's hair and had these 2 water pitchers on a table. Benji picked them up and goes "I really like these jugs!") LMAO I love their cornyness. I guess the whole point to this post is that the guys have been a huge part of my life and will continue to be. Without them, I never would have gotten into some of my other favorite bands, like New Found Glory and Mest, because they were always promoting them and saying "hey go listen to our friends' bands, they're awesome!" I love Good Charlotte, no matter how many people give me shit about it. I'm a fan for life!

September 10, 20072007 VMAsI was so disappointed this year. I swear I've watched it every year since I was a little kid and there's always something I love about them. This year, nothing! First off, I felt bad for Britney cause I wanted her to make a kick ass comeback and throw it in everyone's faces. She didn't do that at ALL. lol the lipsynching was expected, but she didn't even dance like she used to. I know she always said she couldn't dance in heels, that's why she always wore sneakers, and she had like 6 inch heels on last night so maybe that had something to do with it. But still, everything else was just...off. She's definitely not what she used to be. Second thing...I thought it was gonna be cool that it was at the Palms in Vegas, but it was lame! There wasn't even a podium up there for everyone to put their moon men on when they won. What the hell? Sarah Silverman making fun of everyone was a highlight though, I think she's funny as hell. Third...the bands performing in suites was retarded. I like seeing them on the huge stage, going all out. It was stupid that they did it like that. Like, when Gym Class Heroes won best new artist, they couldn't even make a fucking acceptance speech because they were in the room! They just showed them yelling and hugging! lol So yeah...can you tell I wasn't impressed? Didn't enjoy it at all. I didn't even watch most of it, I kept flipping back so I could watch my other shows. (Rock of Love, The Two Coreys). Blah, I hope it's better next year!

September 6, 2007A Permanent HolidayYes, Tony Lovato's new band. Being a huge fan, I was so bummed about Mest breaking up, but this totally makes me happy to hear him sing again. Their songs are so good, definitely worth checking out. ESPECIALLY "Like Always," featuring M. Shadows of A7X. It's such a pretty song, I'm in love with it. Their myspace is http://myspace.com/apermanentholiday I think I'll use this instead of my livejournal to spaz about exciting music from now on. Just random babbles!
